AN INDUSTRIES WEEK.
Some months ago the suggestion was made in these columns that an industries week be held in Palmerston North in connection with the National Dairy Show. The idea was that advantage should be taken of the presence of thousands of visitors in the town to effectively advertise the primary and secondary resources of this fertile and prosperous district. The suggestion has appealed to some of our enterprising townspeople, and there Is more than a probability of its being given effect to. The proposal has a peculiar interest for those engaged in trade and industry. It would not detract from the comprehensive display at the Winter Show. On the contrary, it would be a valuable adjunct to this institution. Well-lighted shops, well-dressed windows, and a varied exhibition of manufactures would be a source cf interest and pleasure to thousands of people. The business people of the town could do much to popularise the winter reunion, and incidentally to bring grist to their own mill.
