PRINCE PLAYS POLO
AND HAS NARROW ESCAPE. [By Electric Cable— Copyright] TAust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] MANILA, May ».S. The Prince of Wales arrived and was enthusiastically -welcomed. He was unable to attend a dinner and reception at night, as he met with a slight accident while playing polo. He was struck by a ball which slightly bruised and cut his left cheek. He returned to the Renown, where he was ai.le to dine as usual, arte.- the wound was dressed. He will probably be able to fulfil to-morrow informal programme. The injury is not causing the slightest anxiety. A BLACK EYE. A black eye is the only result of the Prince's accident, and it did not prevent him going through the original programme. The ball struck his helmet, which caused a cut above the left eye. RENOWN SAILS AGAIN, (Received Tuesday, 2 a.m.) MANILA, May 15. The Prince of Wale 3at mid-day motored to the Naval establishment at Cavite and' lunched with the senior naval officer of the Islands. The bruise of his eye' is healing satisfactorily. He witnessed several games of polo during the afternoon but refrained from playing, ratherowing to the excessive heat, than to Saturday's mishap. He then sailed by the Renown to Labuan, where he is due on Wednesday.
