PRIME BULLOCKS
A PALMERSTON RETURN - . A Palmerston North farmer has just received the' following returns for 40 prime bullocks: —“Average 7001bs; credit, carcases £420, hides £56, total £476; debit, freezing and shipping £427 10/; nett £4B 10/.” This works out at nett £1 4/3 per head, 3/5 per 100, nearer a farthing than a halfpenny per lb; gross, £ll 18/ per head, over 4d per lb, 34/ per 100. The charges were £lO 13/9 per head, 30/6 ’per 100, over 3&d per lb. This is distinctly a case for investigation by the Meat Pool.
