THE WEATHER.
Present indications arc for variable winds, with easterlies prevailing, freshening northwards of New Plymouth and Napier. Moderate to strong westerlies to easterlies elsewhere, and unsettled conditions Irani may be expected shortly in northernmost districts. Increasing haze and cloudiness generally. The barometer has a falling tendency in the north.
