MANAWATU GOLF CLUB. I ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Manawatu Golf Club was held last night, when there was a large attendance Of members. REVIEW OF THE YEAR. Freeth, C. Cements, P. C. Freeth and H. Freeth, who haei been classed with leading players, and haci been a source of great strength in matches with other clubs. Of these, A. E'Kstedt wouia remain as a country member. .Special mention .should j be made of the fact that during the j last season the club won the Wilson I Cup from iho Wanganui <'iub, who had held it tor so many years. The | team that, under the able- captaincy j of R. P. Abraham, secured this covet- \ ed trophy, might wall feel proud of its I success. During the year the score- | lary had received the greatest assist-1 nnee from the president (Mr H, U. Cooper) ana the treasurer (Mr E G. i sini). The open tournament was won by i G. Saunders, with J. C. Bidwiil as : runner-up. .OFFICERS ELECTED. The election of office-bearers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:--) President, P. A. Mc-Hardy; vice-pre-sident, W. L. A vote of thanks to the Racing Club for the use of its premises concluded the meeting.
