CROQUET.
FINALS TO-DAY. Play in the Manawatu Croquet Association’s tourney was continued yesterday despite the bad weather, which could do nothing to dampen the ardour of the contestants. The games have now reached an interesting stage, and the finalists in each section, all being well, will meet to-day. Below are given the details of yesterday’s games:—Open championship—Second round: Airs Baxter beat Mrs Hannah. Third round: (semi-final), Airs AlcKae beat Air Robertson, Air Baxter beat Airs Alillton. Airs Mcßae and Airs Baxter will play the final to-day. Handicap singles (A grade). Second round: Airs Alillton beat Air F. S. Blackburne. Handicap singles (B grade).—Third round; Aliss Robertson beat Airs Torbit, Airs AlcGil! beat Airs Carter, Airs Alansford beat Airs Morgan. Fourth round (semi-final): Airs Hansford heat Airs McGill, Airs Frost beat Airs Kenyon, Aliss Robertson beat Mrs Bendall. Handicap doubles. —Second round: Miss and Air Robertson beat Mesdames Carter and Hannah. Third round: Airs Spring and Airs AlcDonald beat Mesdames Kenyon and Healy, Aliss and Mr Robertson beat Airs Spring and Air AlcDonald, Alesdames Mcßae and Robertson beat Alesdaines AlcLeod and Alansford. The game between Alesdames Alcßae and Robertson and Mr and Mrs Blackburne, in the semi-final, was in progress yesterday evening and will be continued this morning.
