BUTTER STOCKS.

Negotiations are proceeding between the Federal Ministry and the Imperial authorities regarding the decision of the latter to clear the balance of the Australasian stocks of butter held in England. The object of the negotiations is to prevent further swamping of the market. The Minister of Customs, as a result of a consultation with the butter interests, has cabled asking the Imperial authorities to defer the sale of the supplies of surplus stocks until early in the New Year", and also asking for further details regarding the curtailment of shipments during January, February and March. Besides the Australian interests, the movers ih the matter are in touch with the New Zealand producers.
