December 10th: White, 100/ to 104/ per cwt, 102 d to lid per'lb.; coloured, 98/ to 100/, 10id to lOid per lb. CASEIN. Rennet, French unchanged at fCI to £64 per ton; British, declined to £SB per ton. HEMP. Manila market is inactive and unchanged. "J" grade, August to December shipments quoted at £37 per ton sellers. Arrival "J" and lower grades still unsatisfactory with regard to strength. Position in Manila* is firmer than in London, and dealers decline to make offers, considering present market prices are too low. Output January Ist to December 12th, 684,000 bales, against 1,023,000 bales last year. New Zealand market continues dull, but somewhat firmer tone. October-December shipment high points quoted at £35 10/, fair £33 10/ per ton sellers. Considerable quantities of Mexican sisal have been sold to Europe during the last few month.v at gradually declining price, but market steadier now and no further decline has taken place during the last two weeks. Fresh sisal commands premium over old stock offered by U.S.A. holderii. present quotations are: Fresh current white £3O 10/ per ton c.i.f., Europe.
