THE SUM REALISED. The balance sheet for the St.. Helen's Home campaign, which has now been completed, shows a net pro-' fit of £2864 6/4. The receipts, according to the statement of receipts and liabilities, totalled £2971 1/8,; made up as follows: —From variom sections, £1650 18/9; badges, £49 7/9;> commercial travellers, £2lB 3/5; art union, £225 4/3; Reveille, £567 16/11; Mrs Tovey's entertainment, £192 7/9; donations, etc., £€7 2/5. The expenditure was £629 9/11, as follows:Stationery, postages, telegrams, telephones, etc., £l7 18/6; salary and expenses (Mr Lints), £279 12/5; travelling expenses, £7O 18/11; office expenses, £74 16/11; barometer, £7 19/8; fair, £75 1/7; gymkhana, £5 14/9; printing and general advertising, £74 16/3; procession, £l4 17/-; sundries, £7 14/4. The balance between receipts and expenditure is £2341 11/4. The balance-sheet shows assets: Cash at Bank of Australasia (Palmerston North), £2341 11/4; war bonds, £500; motor car, valued at £300; and promissory notes, £22 15/-; a total of £3164 6/4, set-off against which is an amount due on the motor car, £3OO, leaving the credit balance of £2864 6/4. The chairman of the committee (Mr J. A. Nash, M.P.) Intends calling a meeting very shortly to consider the whole question of the SiHelen's Home project.
