THE ARMY COMMANDS. ALLIED FORCES STRENGTHENED. BUT STILL INADEQUATE. [By Electric Cable —Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Monday, 5.5 p.m.) ATHENS, November 20. Ismet Pasha and Djemal Pasha, who were released from Malta, have been appointed to command the Eastern and Northern Armies. Shifik Pasha, Inspector General of the Eastern Army, and 100 officers, were dismissed, after conviction, for intriguing with Enver Pasha. Since General Harrington returned to Constantinople tho British force there has been increased to 20,000, the French force to 5,000, and the Italian force to 4,000, which is believed to be inadequate, in view of the fact that there is a population of two millions in the vicinity of the city.
