MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE.

THE ACCUSED ACQUITTED. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. At the Supreme Court, Alfred S. Denton was acquitted on a charge of the manslaughter of Prank Keenen, on June 7. Accused was in charge of a horse and cart. The Crown alleged that he was drunk, driving on the wrong side of the road, and not carrying lights. Keenen was riding in a taxi, which came into collision with the cart. He was struck by the shaft and had his left arm and several ribs broken. After admission to the hospital he developed dellrlpm tremens, and died from shock fallowing on his injuries, associated with a condition of chronic Alcoholism.
