A HEALTH CAMP

The experiment that is being made in the Wanganui education district of taking physically defective children from the larger schools and placing them in a camp for several weeks, is one that should commend itself to every person who has a proper appreciation of the value of eugenics. The children will be in charge of Dr. Elizabeth Gunn, of the Health Department, who will supervise the exercises and other instruction in health. The parents of the children selected for treatment should welcome the opportunity that is afforded for restoring their offspring to such a condition that they will be able to assimilate education and fortify themselves for the battle of life with which they are confronted. The experiment was commenced last year, and proved so thoroughly successful that the promoters have no hesitation in recommending its continuance. Any citizen who has the project at heart, and who desires to assist in the way of food or other contributions, should communicate with Dr. Elizabeth Gunn, of the Health Department, who is at present in Palmerston North. The object of the camp, which is to give the backward child a chance, should at once appeal to every philanthropic citizen.
