We report another exceptionally busy week, 8 Auction Sales in 6 days, and a total selling time of 20 hours, the week finishing on Saturday with a solid 6-hour sale. Pigs came forward in large numbers, 186 being penned, the sale being in the buyer's favour. Poultry filled the accommodation and met a ready sale at about late rates. Fruit arrived in large quantities and sold well at the daily sales. Produce and New and second-hand Furniture met a ready demand. Mr Johnson's sale in Campbell Street, and Mr Mills' at Woodville, drew representative attendances and good sales resulted. Following are the sales: Weaners Blips and stores 5/ to 25/; Pullets 1/6 to 18/6, Hens 4/6 to 1/, Cockerels to 1/6, Ducks to 8/3, Geese to 10/; Apricdts 8/6 to 15/ per J-case, Peaches ?/6 to 13/-; Tomatoes 5/ to 9/6; Pears 7/ to 10/- bus.; Apples 6/ to 10/, Nectarines 9/ to 12/, Plums 3/ tOx6/.
