PALMERSTON NORTH v. I>ANNE\TRKE. A TEAMS. The Palmerston North Club's A team visited Dannevirke on Saturday and tried conclusions with Dannevirke Club. The visitors were hospitably entertained. They succeeded in beating the home team by nine matches to six. Following are the results of the games, Palmerston North players berVg mentioned first: —■ Men's Singles. —Macdonald lost to "Walker, 3-6, 2-6; Curtis beat Drummond, 6-0, 6-1; Campbell beat Cowper, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4; Bundle beat McFarlane 4-6, 6-3, 8-6; Thompson beat Clifford Thompson, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5; Andrews beat Green, 9-7, 6-4. Men's Doubles. —Macdonald and Curtis lost to Cowper and Walker, 0-6, 3-6; Campbell and Bundle lost to Drumrnond and Thompson, 3-6, 4-6; Thompson and Andrews beat McFarlane and Green, 7-5, 6-2. Combined Doubles. —McDonald and Miss Hodder beat Walker and Mrs Fraser, 6-1, 6-4; Curtis and Mrs Curtis beat Drumrnond and Miss Gordon, 6-4, 6-2; Campbell and Miss to Cowper and Mrs Knight, 2-6, 7-5, 6-8; Bundle and Mrs Thompson lost to McFarlane and Mrs McFarlane, 4-6, 2-6. Ladies' Doubles. —Miss Hodder and Mrs Curtis beat Mrs Fraser and Miss Gordon, 6-4, 6-2; Miss Bett and Mrs Thompson lost to Mrs Knight and Mrs McFarlane, 3-6, 2-6, B TEAMS. A junior team from the Dannevirke Club visited the Linton Streets courts on Saturday, and played a match, against the Palmerston North Club juniors. The result -was a win for Palmerston by nine matches to seven. The following are the results, Palmerston North players being mentioned first: — Men's Singles.—Haggitt beat Ruby, 6-1, 6-3 - f Spencer beat Gover, 6-1, 6-2; Grant beat Russell, 5-6, 6-5, 6-1; Brabant beat Skerman, 6-2, 6-3; Salmond lost to Hartgill, 6-5, 4-6, 1-6. Ladies' Singles.—Miss M. Watson lost to Mrs Thompson, 2-9; Miss Pas--cal lost to Miss Hartgill, 4-9; Mrs. Haggitt lost to Miss Summers, 8-9; Miss Voss lost to Miss rfunter, 7-9. Men's Doubles.—Spencer and Brabant beat Gover and Russell, 6-1, 6-3. Ladies' Doubles. —Misses Watson and Pascal lost to Mrs Thompson and Mrs Hartgill, 5-9; Mrs Haggitt and Miss Voss beat Misses Summers and Hunter, 9-7.
