The controller-general of civilian aviation states that the aggregates of machine mileage in commercial flying was over a million miles since Slay, 1919. The passengers carried numbered 32,345. Regular night flying had not been attempted, but an experimental lighthouse at Croydon had been successful, and others were being built. AMERICA'S RECORD HARVEST. WASHINGTON, December 10. The annual report of the Secretary of Agriculture states that in the face of enormous difficulties the American farmer has produced the largest harvest, with a single exception, in the country's history. The crops' value at current prices is thirteen billions three thousand million dollars. The yield of the ten principal crops is 13 per cent, above the average for the five years before the war. NO CHANCE OF EMBARGO. LONDON, December 10. The chairman of the House, Ways and Means Committee has informed the representatives of the wool growers, who asked for a avool and meat embargo, that Congress was unlikely to take any such action. The State Governor of California has formally notified the Federal State Department that California's Anti-Alien Law becomes effective today, and while there is no desire to embarras negotiations between the Japanese and American Governments, the State intends to exercise the fullest constitutional powers in enforcing the law.
