HOCKEY.
SATURDAY’S Pl AV, The hockey matches on Saturday were played in fine weather, on slightly heavy fields. The results arc as follow: United drew with High School Old Boys, four all. J. Pitt (3), and A. K. Gardner shot goals for United, and V. Tucker (3) and Rutherford scored for Old Boys. Mr A. P. Kerslade had the whistle.
Post and Telegraph beat Banks, 5-1. Clapham, Whitehead, Miuogue (2). and Bason scored for I’, and T., while McDonald found the net lor Banks. The game was more even than the scores indicate, and although the ground was on the heavy side, interfering with the standard of play, the game was keenly fought. Mr B. .Jackson refereed.
In the ladies’ competitions. Technical (Ift) easily accounted for Bosco (3). Scorers for the winners were Misses D. Bevy (4), K. Spenslcy (f>). and Wasley, ami for Bosco. Misses 11. Dawkings and B. Paltridge (2). Mr ft. W. Olliver refereed. High School Old Girls (5) beat llinemoa (nil). Scorers, Misses D. Kernel. B. Green (2). and M. Mullins (2). .Air W, B. Crump was referee.
