HOCKEY.

The following will represent High School Old Boys against United, on the sports ground to-day, at 3 p.m.: Barnard, Aitchison, Tucker, Rutherford Kvle, Graham, Biddle, Nielson, McLachian, Cliffe and Barnard. Emergencies—Baker and Brace. The Manawatu Hockey Association met last evening. Mr Kerslake presided. The Poverty Bay Hockey Association wrote, inviting a ladies or men’s team to play in Gisborne, and offering a portion of the proceeds to cover expenses. It was decided to reply that Manawatu were unable to send a team at present, but would endeavour to do so at a later date. The Bannevirke Hockey Club asked that light blue be registered as their colours. Mr Ford, Manawatu’s delegate on the N.Z.H.A., reported that the executive had ruled that a bully hooking the ball between his legs was obstruction, and therefore illegal. In view of the fact that Manawatu will play Auckland for the Shield within the next two months, the selectors were instructed to select two teams as early as possible, so that training maybe commenced. It was resolved to notifv all clubs that those whose dues are unpaid by June 19th will be suspended. The secretary was instructed to write to the Wellington Association, inviting them to send a representative team to play Manawatu in Palmerston North. p nn ,_ hpH Fixtures for Wednesday'.
