The Telegraph Officers' Association conference sat in committee to-day to consider the Association’s rules, which were subsequently confirmed in open conference. Briefly they altered the constitution of the executive committee to consist of a president, general treasurer, and eight delegates (four from each island) to be elected by conference; vice-presidents (2) to be elected from the four delegates, and one other on occasion, where necessary. After next year the Conference need not be called together at least more than once in every two years. The scope of the distress , fund was widened to include the payment to estates of unmarried officers, and allocation from the general fund was increased. The constitution was altered to allow of a referendum on questions of importance. The Conference agreed to confer with the three railway societies. Public Service Association, and Educational Institute, on matters of common interest.
