GERMANY'S SAVIOUR!

LONDON, June 9

The "Dailv Chronicle's" Berlin correspondent .says that a romantic feature of the elections is the growth of the so-called Popular Party, which is identical with the old National Liberals, which has bee,n raised and financed by Hugo Stinner, who now controls 62 newspapers. He is far and awav the wealthiest and most powerful German, and probably is worth a thousand million marks. He made enormous fortunes out of war contracts, and has been spending liberally to build up a new party on the ruins of the National Liberals, who collapsed with the monarchy. His name now is in everybody's mouth. Some think he is the great man whom Germany is seeking as a saviour of the country. The Berlin newspaper "Preiheit" states that the German workers are bent on following a clear Socialistic policy, and never again will they be used as a tool by the bourgeois parties.
