MAY DAY THREAT.

The “New York Times” Washington correspondent says that Mr Palmer has announced that the Reds have marked a large number of State and Federal officials and other prominent men for assassination on Ist May, as part of a general strike demonstration. The Department of Justice is taking all precautions to protect those whose lives have been threatened. It is understood that the Communist Party, and I.W.W. are cooperating in a scheme to force the United States to recognise the Soviet in Russia.
