DISTRICT NURSING GUILD

The Palmerston North District Nursing Guild met yesterday, when, in the absence of Mr Nash, M.P., Mrs Hewett was voted to the chair. Sister McLean reported that during the month 12S visits had been paid to 26 patients. Ten new names had been enrolled during the month, and nine had since been written off and discharged. One had been sent to the Old People’s Home, and two to the Hospital. There was at present one very serious case. Twelve families had been helped with food and clothing. Donations of clothing had boon received from the following; Mcsdamos Smith,, Hopwood, Martin, O’Callaghan, McGregor, Danvers, Spencer, Sandeham, and the Public Trust; eggs from Mesdames Gunter and Downey.. A vote of thanks was passed to the Eelief Sewing Guild for donations of children’s garments. Donations also were received to the District Nurse Fund as follows: A Friend, £1 10/; Mrs Purser, 5/; hire of invalid chair, 10/; Police Station box, 18/j J. R. Woods * weighing- machine, 11/6; and five guineas for members’ annual subscriptions. Donations to Plunkct Fund: Mesdames H. Akers, £5; G. A. Forrest,, £1; O. Monrad, £1; A. Hannay, £3; C. Louisson, 10/; J. H. Eunniclcs, 6/; Spencer, r>/; Mr A. Hannay, £2; and Messrs. Manson and Barr, £2.
