GOLF.
Large entries have been received for the Manawatu Open Championship to be played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The various clubs will be represented as follows: —Wanganui 7 players. New Plymouth 0, Auckland 5. Wairarapa 4, Feilding 4, Hawke’s Bay 3, Miramar 3, Stratford 2, Hutt, Otaki. Taihape. Scotland and Woodville 1 each. Unfortunately the Aucklanders (W. E. Colbeek. E. George, McCormack and Lusk) will not be able to arrive till Wednesday, but will take place in the handicap games. There will be 70 players taking part in the championship and 84 in Wednesday and Thursday’s games. The Wellington Club are not represented. Owing to the large entries the games will start at 0 sharp each day. Woodil eld’s motor ’bus will leave the Post Office each day at 5.45 sharp..
