STOCK REPORT. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Feilding sale as follows: —Wc had a large yarding of both cattle and sheep and there was a large attendance of buyers. Prices were well maintained. We quote: —Cattle: 3-yr steers £9 10/ to £9 12/, 2-yr steers £S -1/6, 181 mths to 2-yr steers £4 9/, £4 12/6 to £5, : yearling steers £3 7/6; dairy cows (good) £l3 5/ to £lB .15/, fair £lO, £l2 10/, others £7 15/ to £10; store cows £3 15/, £4, £5, £5 12/0 to £0 2/6; forward cows £S 5/; light fat cows £7 7/; fat maiden heifers £7 15/ to £lO 10/; empty heifers £5 12/6 to £6 2/6. Sheep: Good mixed hoggets 23/2, 24/6, 24/10 to 26/10, small hoggets 11/, 14/, others 4/ to 9/6, P.B. Rom. owe hoggets 33/3; B.F. 2-ths 17/6, 2-th to f.f.m. ewes 34/10; prime fat wethers 47/ to 52/6, fat wethers 32/, 33/6 to 39/6, fat B.F. wethers and maiden owes 27/6, 33/6 to 37/; fat ewes 28/, 38/6 to 42/; fat hoggets 36/5; fat 2-ths 35/ to 36/. Dalgoty and Co., Ltd,, Palmerston North, report having a fair entry of stock at their Feilding sale on Friday, 22nd August, 1919, which sold at following prices:—Sheep: Small hoggets 20/ to 21/3, medium do. to 24/6; mixed aged ewes in lamb 22/6, light fat ewes 31/1, fat ewes 39/8; fat wethers £2 5/. Cattle: Weaner steers (bad colours) 35/; store cows £4 15/, £6 to £8 15/. Messrs Williams and Kettle, Ltd., report having offered a good yarding of hoggets at the Dannevirko saleyards. Bidding was not brisk under the hamhcr but with the exception of two pons we effected a clearance. Prices must be considered good, although not up to last sales. They quote as follows: — Mixed sox hoggets 33/6; others ranged from 21/6, 25/, 25/3, 27/2. The W.F.C.A., Ltd., (stock department), Dannevirko, report on the Dannevirke Hogget Fair as follows:—A fairly good entry came forward, the bulk of which comprised medium sorts. A few linos of good quality sheep mot with good competition, but for the ( average of the yarding the demand was hardly up to late sales reports. We report the following sales: —49 woolly hoggets 27/8, 240 medium do. 25/3, 102 do. do. 24/9, 200 do. do. 21/6, 09 do. 20/6, 72 do. 19/. The W.F.C.A., Ltd. (stock department), Dannevirko, in conjunction with the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’, report having a most successful sale of dairy stock at Te Rehunga on the 19th inst on account of Mr E. A. Davenport. The dairy herd, which comprised mostly highgrade Jerseys, was well and favourably known and in excellent condition. Competition was keen throughout, the top price being £3B, this price being paid for a high-grade Jersey cow corning to third calf, which so far constitutes a record for the district. The herd of 25 cows made the good average of £23 11/ per head. The rising 2-year-old spring grade Jersey heifers were also a good lot, selling up to £2l 5/. The line of 16 head averaging over £lB each. Horses, implements and sundries sold at cquajly good rates throughout _as follows: —4-year spring cart gelding £O6 10/, rising 7-year spring c«rt mare £3l, Cambridge roller £l9 10/, hay rake £ll, s.f. plough £l4, spring dray £26 10/, grain and manure drill £47.
