LADIES’ GOLF CLUB.

The annual meeting of the lady s associate members of the Manawatu Golf Club, postponed from last Monday, was held yesterday afternoon at All Saints ’ schoolroom. There was quite a good attendance and the chair was taken by the captain, Mrs L. A. Abraham. The secretary. Miss Blackmore, read her annual report, which showed that the club had enjoyed a successful though quiet season. The customary practice, since the war had started, was followed of having no tournament or outside matches; there were no trophies, and the entrance monies amounting to £9 5s were donated to the Red Cross. The total of playing members amounted to 62. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The following were appointed: Captain, Mrs L. Seifert; hon. secretary, Mrs L. A. Abraham; committee, Miss Blackmore, Mrs Inncs, Miss Moore, and Mrs Seifert. The following ladies kindly promised trophies for competition during the season: Mrs Blackmore, Miss Blackmore, Mrs Collinson, Mrs Fitzherbert, Mrs Frceth, Mrs Innes, Miss Inncs, Mrs Pavitt, Mrs A. Seifert, Mrs G. Seifert, and Mrs L. Seifert. It was decided that the competitions for the season should be played as follows: President’s medal, first Tuesday in the month; L.G.U. matches, second Tuesday; bogey matches, third Tuesday; four ball matches, fourth Tuesday. It w-as decided to hold an open tournament this season, commencing on Tuesday, 23rd September, for three days. It was considered this would give plavcra ample time to get up to Auckland for the championship meeting that is to be held there this year, commencing on the 29th September The following new members were elected: —Miss D. Waldegrave, Miss M. Waldegrave, Miss Fitzgerald, Miss Seeker, bliss Pringle, bliss I. Fowler, Mrs Don Riddiford, Mrs Gowmg, Miss Freeth, bliss U. Frceth, bliss Fowler, Mrs N Sinclair, Miss Seifert, bliss E. Coombe, Miss Warren, Mrs Nobel Campbell, Mrs R. I’. Abraham. Miss Nielsen, Miss S. Watson, Mrs Barnard, Miss Charter, Miss J. Innes, Miss Styles, bliss F. Guy. The first competition for the president’s medal for May will be played on Tuesday. 6th May; the draw for partners will bo published in the papers, and all members who are unable to play are requested to adviso either Mrs L. Seifert (’Phono 203) or Miss Moore (’phono 155). The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Miss Blackmore, the retiring secretary.
