Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report that at their Fcilding s»le on the 26th inst. we had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. Sheep were hard to quit, but a fair number of cattle sold at late rates. We quote:— Fat_ ewes 25/6, 5-ycar owes 11/10, 14/? 15/6, to 17/, lambs 5/5 to 9/1, small cull lambs 2/6. Cattle: Fat cows £9 12/6 to £lO 5/ fat and forward bullocks £l4 5/, forward cows £5, £6, £6 10/, to £B, heifers r.w.b. £5 13/ to £6, mixed weaners 12/6 to 22/, bulls £3 to £5 10/. Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a fair yarding of sheep and cattle at Taihape yards on Wednesday, April 23rd, 19.19, when, practically every line offered was sold. Quotations: Sheep: Empty ewes 10/6 to 11/6, fat and forward evves 25/4, culls 4/5, mixed 2-th (small) 13/6 to 15/1, cull 2-th 5/8 to 9/, lambs (cull) 2/11. Cattle: 20-rath heifers £3/1/ to £4/8/, 20-mth steers £3/16/ to £5. Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a good yarding of both sheep and cattle at their Mangawcka Yards on Thursday, April 24th, 1919. Practically all the sheep sold but the cattle being dull of sale, several lines failed to reach the vendors’ reserve. Quotations: Sheep: Lambs (small) 5/1 to 5/8, medium late shorn 8/ to 8/3, mixed 2-th (small) 14/3, aged ewes in lamb 12/2. Cattle: 2%-yr steers £B/10/ to £9/17/, 20-mth steers £6/10/., £7 to £7/1/, yearling heifers £2/5/, bulls £2/2/6.
C. r. SPOONER’S SALE. John Monusov and Co. advertise full details of Mr C. F. Spooner’s sale of superior and high-class furniture, new upright grand piano, five-scater Dodge motor car and appointments to bo held on the premises, 154 Fitzherbcrt Street, to-morrow, Wednesday, commencing at 12.30 p.m. sharp. In addition to the woods mentioned a line of 50 selected white Leghorn pullets from prize strain, reliable pony mare and foal, a quantity of clover hay, and a number of other lines too numerous to be mentioned will be offered at the sale. There is a slight reserve on the car, all the rest of the goods which are advertised on pe<ro S being offered without reserve. Clients arc particularly requested to bo ca.’ly as the auctioneers have ovex 1000 lots to got through on the day.
