FARMERS’ UNION.

PALMERSTON NORTH BRANCH. The adjourned annual meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the Now Zealand Farmers’ Union was held on Saturday. The president, Mr J. A. MeLeavey, presided and there was a fair attendance of members. The annual balance-sheet submitted by the secretary, showed that the revenue for the past year nad amounted to £ll 10/ and the expenditure to £4O, leaving a credit balance of £1 10/> while the outstanding subscriptions totalled £ls.—On the motion of the chairman the balance-sheet was adopted. REMITS. A copy of the minutes cf the subprovincial meeting held the ••previous week, including the remits then discussed, was read and considered. Iu connection with a proposed alteration, in the constitution and platform of the Union, one member remarked that ihe suggestions were ‘ ‘ very pretty but not practical,” and on the motion of the chairman it was resolved to affirm that the existing constitution and platform of the Union was good enough for the Palmerston branch.
