A DEMAND FOR INSURANCE. f \iist and N.Z. Cable Association.] SYDNEY, Dec. 31. The crew refused to man the Makura unless each man is insured for £SOO against death from influenza. NO SIGN OF A SETTLEMENT. SYDNEY, Yesterday. The Makura's departure is postponed till Friday. If the troubles are not settled passengers intend arranging with the owner of an intercolonial steamer for transport. So far, there is no sign of a settlement, the company refusing to grant the men's insurance demand.
