Work of French Tanks
GLORIOUS PART IN BATTLE. [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] LONDON, July 28..A French official report states; Since the -28 th our tanks have taken a glorious part in the battle. They drove in the enemy lines and facilitated the forward rush of the infantry. They constantly accompanied or preceded tho Allied addvance, and attacked centres of resistance and enemy batteries in each section. The tanks accounted for fifteen or twenty German machine guns and inflicted tho heaviest losses. Some of the tanks returned to the battle line four or live times on the same day.
