Enemy in Retreat
On Whole Front North of the Marne , Ales Reach New Line

At 1.30 a.m. a French communique states: Under continuous pressure by the French and Allied troops for several days past, the Germans to-day retreated on the whole front north of the Marne. Our troops are pressing their rearguards, and have reached a line through Bruycres, Villenennesur-less, Couxmont, Passy, Gringny, Cuisles-la-Nenville, and Chaumuzy, On the right bank of the Marne we have cleared! a wide front, and we continue to progress. We have reached more than 15 kilometres north-east of Chateau Thierry. (Received Monday, 12.28 a.m.) LONDON, July 28. , An American official message states: The enemy’s resistance has been broken between the Ourcq and the Marne.
