Masterton Show.

SUBSTANTIAL PRIZES OFFERED. The annual show of the Masterton A, and P. Association is to be held on the beautiful Solway showgrounds on February 19th and 20th, 1918. Despite the war the Association has decided to make a special effort in connection with this year’s exhibition, and particular attention has been paid to the various stock classes, competitions, industrial, horticultural and children’s classes. In the sheep, cattle and horse sections there are substantial cash prizes, as well as trophies to compete for, while the other sections of the show have never before been so well catered for. Prominent members of the Association who tiro now lighting at the front have written and urged the Association not to allow the standard of the Masterton show to fall below exhibitions, and the officials have wisely decided to carry out the wishes of those men who are at present doing their bit in the great struggle which democracy is engaged in against the Hun barbarians. Very few agricultural societies in tho Dominion offer the same range of trophies and special prizes as the Masterton Society does. Entries for the show will close with the secretary (Mr J. B. Emmett, Box 40, Masterton) on Monday, February 1 tli. Entries for the ram fair will close on February 4th. Mr Emmett will be pleased to supply prospective exhibitors with the fullest particulars concerning the various competitive sections.
