Winter Show Suggestions.
At a meeting of the Winter Committee of the Manawatu A, and P. Association, held yesterday, it was decided that all butter exhibits be sent direct to the Wellington Meat Export Company’s stores and be wired and sealed by Government graders, until required for judging. A letter was received from the Paeroa Chamber of Commerce, enquiring as to the possibility of establishing competitions for district courts at agricultural shows. — It was decided to reply that nothing could be done in this direction till after the war, when labour would bo more plentiful. Letters were received from Mr G. Cooper, of Wellington, making _ suggestions regarding doer head exhibitions, and from Cooper’s, Ltd., and Mr G. Stratford, incorporating suggestions for the vegetable and fruit divisions. The letters were referred to the Schedule Committee.
Applications for space were received and referred to the Space Committee. The arrangements for dairy produce, with minor alterations, were left with the same committee as last year.
The President, Messrs F. S. Mcßae, J. E. Forster-Pratt, and J. F. MeKelvic were appointed a sub-committee to arrange for the usual football match. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the general committee that the show be held on four days, the
dates to be 18th to 21st June
It was agreed to hold the cattle sale and smoke concert as usual, and a Schedule Committee was sot up to revise the general portions of the show catalogue.
