Carncot School.
BREAK-UP AND SPORTS. Fine weather favoured Miss Wilson on Saturday for the sports gathering and prize-giving in connection with the pupils of Carncot School. Messrs Hannay, Fuller, and Monrad were in charge of the sports, and many «1‘ the prizes were kindly donated by the parents and friends of the children. The boys and girls’ singing class under Mr Holmes Runnicles gave several songs, which were much appreciated. The following ladies presided over the stalls: — Tea stall: Mrs Fuller, Mrs Akers, Mrs Monrad, and Miss Beswick, Produce: Mrs Barraud, Mrs Grant, and Mrs Newsom Doll’s stall: Mrs Vivian and Mrs Thompson. Ice cream; Misses Dorothy and Betty Abraham, and Miss M. Goldingham. PRIZE LIST. Three-legged race (8 years); Barnett and McHardy. Under 8: Marie Pike and Joan Barnett. Flat race (under 7): Joan Barnett. Long jump, boys over 10: Bagnall. 10 and under: Guy Bagnall. 8 and under; McHardy. High jump, boys over .10: Keeling. 10 and under: McMahon. 8 and under: McHardy. Long jump, girls: A. Buchanan. High jump, girls: G. Fuller, Marie Pike. Relay race, boys: Keeling, Bagnall, Davis, and McHardy. Girls: M. PasIcy ’s team. Obstacle race: Bagnall, Fuller. Tortoise bicycle: Thompson, Hannay. Three-legged race, senior: Keeling and Bagnall, Guy and Thompson, M. Pasley and M. Buchanan. Decorated Items. Decorated bicycle: 1 Hannay, 2 Thompson, special prize. Fuller. Tricycle: 1 Peter Barraud, 2 May Akers. ( Umbrella: 1 Grace Fuller, 2 M. Buchanan. Basket: Edith Griffith. Chair: Sutherland.
