Bucharest Threatened.
ENEMY ON CAPITAL.
PARIS, Nov. 29. M. Marcel Hutiri, writing in the "Echo de Paris," says .that the Rumanians have constructed defences south and south-west of Bucharest. The Ministers, Legations and banks have proceeded to Jassy. News of the great battle for the defence of Bucharest is hourly awaited. French experts "point out that though the Ministers have been transferred to Jassy, the Rumanian Generalissimo, Averesco, and the Headquarters Staff of the Allies have not changed their headquarters.
PETROGRAD, Nov. 29. A telegram from Bucharest states that the Germans are steadily advancing on the capital from the northwest, west and south-west. LONDON, Nov. 29.
A Russian communique indicates that a Russian offensive has commenced in the wooded Carpathians. It says:—We have captured ridges of the heights east and south of Kirlibaba (near the junction of Bukowina and Rumania).
