The '' Daily Telegraph'' has received information, from reliable sources which leave no doubt that the conditions of life in Germany are serious. Meetings are being held in many parts urging a speedy peace. A member of the Reichstag at one meeting urged a truce with England, even at a sacrifice of some of Germany's chief ambitions. There has been formidable rioting in several centres. The "Cologne Gazette" even prophesies a gloomy future for Germany.

Official information received here states that the much-vaunted Hermannstadt victory consisted of the destruction of a single Rumanian regiment forming the rearguard. It was surrounded by a twentyfold greater force and fought heroically. Meanwhile the Rumanian main body withdrew safely.

Two Ministers have advocated a continued neutrality. The "Daily Chronicle's" Athens correspondent says that Constantino 1 has accepted the Cabinet's resignation. M. Calogeropoulos explains the reason of the resignation to the inability of Cabinet to enter into relations with the Entente's representatives.

The "Daily Telegraph's" Milan corn s.iondent says that the Austrian Government's difficulty in maintaining the loyalty of the Bohemian troops is increasing. Reports are frequent of mutinies and wholesale eexcutions. It is rumoured that Bohemian regiments were destroyed by exposure on the Russian front. Sometimes they were abandoned for days without provisions.

The late Rumanian Minister at Vienna, in an interview with the "Novoe Vremya," said that the Emperor Franz Josef of Austria was comparatively vigorous. The rumours abut senile infirmity and apathy were false.

Deported French People.

Semi-official: Germany has promised Spain that two thousand women who were deported and are in exile from Roubaix and Tourcoing will be retturned shortly, also that all other deported men and women will be returned when the harvest is over.
