Sydney reports the death of Hon. E. H. Cameron, father of the Victorian Assembly.
Mr Roy of Palmerston, is an inmate of a lockl hospital, having to undergo an operation to-day.
Among the dangerously ill at Malta are Private A. J. Best, of Longburn, and Private B. N. Sandilands, of Feilding.
Mr C. Bowfcn, of Palmerston North, has been elected a district representative of Wellington Head Centre of the Royal Life-saving Society. Mrs E. Jolly has received word tj/at her son Trooper E. Jolly, who was wounded at the Dardanelles, embarked for England on the 7th. Mr J. O. Batchelar has received a cable that his son Lieut. Arthur Batchelar, ia at present in a London Hospital suffering from a slight wound in the left shoulder.
The latest hospital report shows that Private Dreaver, whose next *of kin is Mrs Dreaver, Willowbank, Palmerston North, is dangerously ill of typhoid 'in N.Z. Hospital, Cairo. His Excellency the Governor, Lord Liverpool, accompanied by Colonel Gibbon, -visited Palmerston yesterday ior the/puiyose of inspecting Rangiotu camp. On arrival, His Excellency was met by Mayor, and was shown the soldiers' baths provided by the (Patriotic Society at the Gasworks, and 1 expressed his delight at 1 the excellent arrangements. Lord Liverpool made a close inspection of the camp, and expressed -satisfaction with the site and its surroundings. The party returned :to Wellington by the Napier express.
"4/11 a leg—seats free!" is a ticket that pulls one up in front of Collinson and Cunninghame's clothing department window. It refers to Boslyn saddle tweed trousers bought specially for working purposes. The price is thus only 9/10 and for cash the firm's war rebate reduces this to •9/1.
