BARTON BROS. CIRCUS

FIFTH ANNUAL TOOB. Barton Brothers' circus will appear Jn Palmerston on Thursday next. The ■'present combination is without doubt one of the largest and best yet brought to New Zealand. Press criticism says '' all the new arrivals received a hearty Welcome and were greatly applauded by large audiences who filled their tent at the initial performances at Trentham." Amongst the new items (introduced to the Dominion is a comedy acrobatic team '' Shand and Y3hand," who perform some remarkable feats and keep the audience in a continual state of merriment. Mr Boy Barton still retains his wonderful nerve for horsemanship. Another new arrival who was well received is '' Alicia,'' the lady juggler, who seems to utterly defy the laws of gravitation. One of the "best acts seen in New Zealand for many years is that of "The Three Dentons." Included [in the performers are a large number jof trained horses, educated mules, dogs /and monkeys. These animals all perform wonderful tricks. An interesting act is presented by the Parisian Model, who poses in a very graceful manner, and represents some magnificent paintings. A clever and interesting act is that of "Coco and Cico," described as the monkey men. The Le Mars champion ju jitsu experts give a wonderful exhibition, in which Miss Letham, the world's lady ju jitsu champion, introduces s<Jme clever holts and throws. The programme is full of new sensations which are sure to attract a full tent during each night of 'the Palmerston season.
