SUDDEN DEATH

ON A RANGIOTU FARM. Yesterday morning a young man named W. H. Greenwood died suddenly on Mr W. Jewell's farm at Rangiotu. It appears that deceased, who was only 24 years -of age, has been working on the farm as a labourer for the past three weeks, and at about 11.30 a.m. yesterday went out with the intention of doing some stumping work. He did not return for lunch, and Mr Jewell set out to ascertain his whereabouts. He then discovered deceased lying face downwards in a hole, from which he had extracted a stump. He was then quite dead. Deceased was subject to fits, and it is surmised that he fell into the hole when in a fit, and was suffocated.
