General Macdand, a French military correspondent with the Russians, telegraphs that the evacuation of Vilna was carried out without the general strategic situation undergoing any serious modification. The German pressure along the whole of this front continues. The enemy has a vast number of effectives, and possesses immense resources in material, besides great energy. PARIS, Sept. 24.
The military correspondent of the Echo de Pisa, referring to the Volhvnia campaign, says Generals Wanoff's and Bltsiloff's armies on the Skaa and Styr pierced the Austrian front, capturing thousands. They routed the Austrians and Germans eastward of Lutsk and the enemy enemy abandoned Lutsk crossing the Styr." The Russians are pursuing.
