NOTES. Feilding Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting commences to-day. As there are excellent acceptances racing should be good and speculation brisk. In the Mangaone Stakes ten horses have accepted, and although this number may be reduced by a couple, still there will be sufficient to make the race interesting. Postillion 8.13 is always dangerous over six furlongs. Ineuru 8.5 ran up to form at Rangitikei, and can be expected to have a large following. Avon Park put up a good performance at Wanganui Cup meeting, but may take on the Halcombe Welter in preference. King Chiara, when he won on tlie se- j cond. day at Bulls, left no doubt that | he can gallop fast, and lie' looks as good as his breeding. The Kawakawa Hurdles, 2 miles, have drawn an acceptance of eleven, and all have won hurdle races with the exception of Moutoa Girl. Flingot 11.3 and Styrax 11.0 put up two good races at Wanganui, and can stay the distance, and are well treated. Ascalon 10.3 has won hurdle races over short courses recently, and appeared to do so without effort. The distance should suit Glenorchy 9.10. Feilding Cup, IV2 miles, have drawn a very small field in comparison vsitli other years, and may be reduced still further before they go to the post. Sir Alba 7.12 has accepted at Waipukurau, and may start there. Ratana 1.2 is also likely to start in the Halcombe Welter, and it is doubtful if Sunbird will start. The Wanganui Cup winner, Master Lupin 8.5 should just about start favourite. The first steeplechase event the Feilding Club have included in their programme has drawn a large field. No doubt the gold cup donated by Mr E. Short has a lot to do with such a large entry. Bonny 12.13 is a long way ahead in the weights. General Webb 11.8 is reported to be jumping well, and has a lot of pace on the flat. Advancement 10.12 should be near the leaders at the finish. Onepuhi Welter.—Fore 9.2 heads the handicap of a field of fourteen. Sir Fisher 8.3 ran well to the bend at Bulls, but died away in the straight. Master Moutoa 7.11 and Ruapara N.2 both showed form at Rangitikei's recent meeting, the former winning, and the latter ran a second. Ongo Hack Handicap.—Hushabve 7.10, Glacier 7.2, and Tiora 7.S have their Rangitikei form to recommend them. Glacier showed a lot of pace at Bulls, running a good second to Bivouac. The Halcombe Welter has two Cup candidates included in a field of nine, Maniaroa and Ratana. The former is most lkely to start in the Cup. George ! 8.12 is a splendid horse in heavj going, j Waiata Hack has a field of twenty, in which Client and Iceberg are recent 'performers, both gaining second | places. ( All horse owners and trainers who 1 have given the Telford Patent Re- ! straining Bridle a trial have notified ! the pattntee that it is of such good service in managing a difficult horse that they would not be without one. 1 Anyone who has to do with horses will : be wise to interview Mr Telford, who is always pleased to explain the i workings of the bridle and give any j trial.

The following are the train arrangements for the Feilding races today;— Leave Palmerston 7.10 a.m.. ■ $.50 a.m., 10.15 a.m., and 11.20 a.m„ i rpturning from Feilding at 4.50, 5.45 ' and 0.11 p.m.
