Cable advice has been received in Wellington by Viscountess Kelburn that Hon. James Boyle, Captain in the Royal Scots Fusiliers, was killed in action on the 18th October. He was the third son of the Earl of Glasgow, and brother to Viscount Kelburn, Captain of H.M.S. Pyramus. Mrs Alexander McMinn, who has been a resident of Palmerston North for the last 34 years, left for Wellington yesterday en route for Sydney and Melbourne by the s.s. Ulimaroa. Mrs McMinn will be met in Sydney on arrival of the boat by her son, Mr Gordon E. S. McMinn, who will accompany his mother to his home in Bendigo, where Mrs McMinn intends spending an extended holiday. _ Mrs McMinn's many friends will join in wishing her bon voyage and a safe return.
