NOTICE is hereby given that the above Board proposes to make and levy a general rate the rateable property within the river district on a graduated scale, according to the classification of such property made by the Board. The Board, proposes that such rate shall be imposed upon the several classes of sueh property iu the following proportions, viz.:— . CLASS A—Lands receiving or likely to receive immediate and direct benefit from the river works, a rate of one penny and one farthing in the £. CLASS B. —Lands receiving or linely to receive less direct benefit therefrom, a rate of 6/16 of a penny in the £. CLASS C.—Lands receiving or likely to receive only an indirect benefit therefrom, a rate of 4/16 of a penny in the £. NOTICE is also given that the Board will, at its first meeting, to be held after the expiration of 28 days from the publication of this notice, consider all objections in writing which have been received by the Board to the proposed propositions as est out above.
