Mr J. Palmer, of Raumai, who underwent an operation for appendicitis in a private hospital at Palmerston on Monday, is progressing satisfactorily. Mr and Mrs D. Howie, of Pohanginn, intend residing in Palmerston, the farm having been disposed of. Mr Howie still shows improvement in his health. It is understood that Dr. William Anderson, at present Assistant-! n-spector-General of Schools, will succeed Mr Hogben, who retires presently on superannuation. —Association.
