Townend was granted yesterday by Mr .Justice Denniston. In addition to the public benefactions already announced, a large number of private bequests are made. The will is dated 2.'srd January, HrlM, and there is a codicil dated Mist December, Etl.'b

The following are the bequests ol reehold property: —

Freehold property, "Glenmore," with all furniture, to Geoffrey Sprott Tabart. of Christchureh.

Freeiiold property, Riecarton, to Alfred Arnaud MeKellar, ''to use. occupy and enjoy during his life, free or rent.'' and after his death to permit his wife, Alice Aland MeKellar,' to use, occupy, and enjoy the same for her life, "upon the same conditions and subject thereto," to hold the .same for Cecil George MeKellar. Twenty thousand pounds and certain furniture at "Mona Vale" and "Glenholme" to Cecil George McKel lar. Thomas Scott Johnston, manager of Glenmark Estate, annuity of £SOO for life, and after his death to his widow. In addition to the annuity mentioned in the will, the codicil directs that Thos. Scott Johnston shall receive £SOOO, with the wish that, i 1' possible, he shall purchase part of Glenmark when it is subdivided. For probate purposes the estate of the bite Mrs Townend was sworn as being '' under £soo,ooo, but when the accounts were made up it is expected that it w ill approximate £1.000,000.
