WORKMEN RESENT SCOTTISH TEMPERANCE ACT. By Electric Telegraph.—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, May 29. The Scottish Temperance Act became operative yesterday. The hotels were not opened before ten o'clock. Workmen resent their inability to obtain drink before breakfast hour, and are agitating that breakfast be deferred. Several hundred in Glasgowrefused to resume work until hotels opened.
