BUILDING TRADES TROUBLES. Bj Electric Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. SYDNEY, May 20. The Building Trades Federation intend forcing the question of a 44 hours week to a finality. LONDON. May 28. The master builders, at the request of the National Federation, have declared a lock-out in terms cabled on the 11th. PERTH, May 29. At a mass meeting of unionists, it was resolved to support the carpenters who struck to secure preference to unionists, and a general appeal for assistance, including England and New Zealand, was endorsed. A number of allied trades are affected. Summonses will be issued under the Arbitration Act against two timber firms for closing their yards.
