INJURED BY MOTOR CAR
£l5O DAMAGES AWARDED. Press Association. —By Telegraph. WELLINGTON, May 29. An interesting claim for damages occupied His Honor, Mr Justice Hosking. at th.o Supreme Court. Plaintiff was Michael Sweeney, a man of 57 years, who sued to recover £5Ol damages from Elsie Ivirkcaidie and Sidney Kirkcaldie, her husband, for bodreceived on Ist February. Plaintiff, when walking along Karori Road, was struck by a motor car driven by Mrs Ivirkcaldie, and received minor injuries. The most serious was an injury to the lower part of the back, which was still painful, and plaintiff also suffered from a frequent sequel of accidents and traumatic neurasthenia. This nervous condition, it was asserted by witnesses for plaintiff, was not likely to disappear in a man of plaintiff's age. After a lengthy retirement, the jury returned a verdict for £l5O damages.
