LINERS COLLIDE.

The Canadian Pacific Company'* liner. Empress of Ireland, is believed to have collided with the Red .Star Company 's liner Hanover, east of Father Point. A message to Government says there is no sign of either liner, but lifeboats are circling round. The Government steamer Eureka which responded to the Empress of Ireland's S.O.S. calls and the Government steamer Lady Evelyn are standing by. The Empress of Ireland cleared yesterday for Liverpool with 77 first, 20(> second and 504 third class passengers and a crew of 500. There was also aboard a Salvation Army party going to the International Congress at London. Both vessels arc believed to have sunk.
