CARNIVAL NOTES
The usual weekly meeting of the Carnival Committee was held last evening. There was a large attendance, with the Mayor in the chair. It was agreed to hold a Poster and Fancy Dress Skating Carnival in the A. and P. Skating Kink on the first night of Carnival Week, arrangements having been made with the lessee of the rink. Lt was reported that the candidates had met during the week, and had agreed on the style and material of the dresses that they are to wear. Mr Maurice Cohen has agreed to judge the competition for musical monologues, and the committee will arrange to appoint an official accompanist. Arrangements for posters and advertising were left in the hands of a committee, and the posters will be sent all round the district. Other business included reports from various committees, showing that good progress is being made.
