A MAGNIFICENT TO THE "TRIUMPH." Perhaps the finest tribute that has ever been paid to the speed qualities, reliability and consistency yf ttie "Triumph" motor cycle \vas that paid b,7 the hand tapper for the North CantCK'Wry Motor Cyclists' Club in 'adjusting the handicaps for last Saturday's 100 mile beach race. There •were machines of more than twice the horse power of the "Triumph" in the race, but the handicapper allowed the "Triumphs" only two to six minutes' start of these machines! The "Triumphs" did not win under this handicapping. They would have had to beat their own record pretty handsomely to do it. But they did do this: They put up the best team performance ol" any make of motor cycle in the race, and they made first, second and third fastest time for singlecylinder machines. It may be mentioned that only four "Triamphs" started. The "Triumphs" whic-h finished averaged 50 miles an hour, which Avas not bad going for a type of motor cycle primarily design* l '' • \ ° ror economy in rur.nng cost- * , atratoii the trutl; «*»«• "TrinmnV . our clalm for tllC .
