UPPER HUTT DISASTER.
FUNERAL OF VICTIMS. Press Association. —By Telegraph. "WELLINGTON, March 31. Over 1000 people attended the funeral this morning of the late James Comesky (postmaster), Constable D. Mahoney, Railway Guard Flynn and Railway Porter Taylor, four of the seven victims of the fire explosion at the Upper Hutt. Cabinet was represented by the Hons. Bell, Herdman and Fraser. The Railway and Police Departments were largely represented, and the Mayor of Wellington and several City Councillors attended. i The Wellington Post has opened a relief fund in aid of sufferers by the Upper Hutt fire and so far nearly £4O has been received.
